Welcome!

Get to Know Ms. Beth

I was born and raised in San Diego, California. As a first generation Latina, I am the first in my family to obtain a degree in higher education including a bachelor's in Liberal Studies with a minor in Education. With a desire to learn more about teaching, I am now onto obtaining my Masters of Education (M.Ed) in Teaching and Learning from High Tech High's Graduate School of Education. I dream of, someday, earning a doctorate in Education (Ed.D) and becoming an instructional coach to support new teachers as they transition into the field and provide targeted instructional support to students.

Led by my passion and love for working with children, I was brought to High Tech Elementary in Point Loma to support students through my position as a 1:1 aide and academic coach. Inspired by the passionate and hardworking teachers I worked with, I chose to take the first step to become a teacher. Since then, I've been honored to teach in first and third grade at High Tech Elementary in Point Loma.

In my free time, I love spending time with family, reading, and trying new places to eat. I, also, enjoy creating Lego sculptures and solving puzzles.

Q & A

What's your favorite color?
  • The rainbow! I love all the colors in the rainbow, especially when they're all together.
What's your favorite food?
  • It depends on the day. I love sushi, spicy chicken wings, and hot soups (ramen, hot pot, pozole and pho)
What's your favorite movie?
  • I have so many! Some of my favorites are Ponyo, Spirited Away, Under The Tuscan Sun, 50 First Dates, and Mona Lisa Smile.
When did you know you wanted to be a teacher?
  • When I was in high school, I loved going to school and completing projects. I had so much fun learning with my closest friends and with the amazing educators that facilitated our learning. I felt, and still feel, an immense appreciation for my teachers that spread their love and passion with their students. Their love for teaching and student voice inspired me to teach too.
